April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 in 1995) began her musical journey at the age of 7 in which she began guitar and piano lessons. In April, when she was 12 years old She composed her debut single called Different. The singer spent much of her time at 14 writing songs and practicing music. Soon after, April started to go on trips with her dad and to write songs in NY as well as LA. April added other themes to the tune "Take My Hand" for a few of her the friends she had who struggled with issues such as peer pressurization problems, as well as teenage suicide. Lockhart has her own fan base and also works as an online lifestyle blogger for the renowned Ilia the Clean Beauty brand. Her disability is a part of her identity, but it is not the whole of the picture. So, Lockhart's Instagram page doesn't shy away from her handicap, however the focus isn't on her disability neither. The message? It is important to remember that everyone has many faces, our identities are diverse and we're much more than our bodies. I do not want this to define me I don't want to be a disability influencer where that's all I discuss because there are so many other aspects to my life. Lockhart speaks via video from her home in Nashville. My day-today life is not directly affected by disability. I go about my regular day-to-day life and discover my own solutions to problems. It's also part of me so I think it's important to talk about. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay going with self-acceptance. Even so, Lockhart admits that she has had periods that made her feel uncomfortable about her appearance and wearing clothing that showed her arms. The woman now puts on whatever clothes she wishes and shares pictures on Facebook in awe. Self-love for her was an extended trip. This is a process, and I don't think you ever get there. I think it is important to be around individuals who truly see the person you are.
