Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
The kids were asleep in their cribs while I was strapped to a baby to my back. Ha! It was all falling in place, yet we were nowhere near done. The project would require the time, energy, and of course my favourite shopping experience to complete the interior of this house. For my budget to remain sound, I travelled with three of my boys to look for bargains at estate sales. It was our weekly routine to walk around auctions and garage sales on Sundays and Saturdays and purchase a range of old pieces and new constructed. It was my job to spend the day on the drive painting or sanding. What I saw looked something like... this is the moment my love for restoring furniture began. It didn't matter if the house was already decorated. I also had a booth at the market, where I would sell things. I could outgrow the area because I had numerous pieces I could use. More than 1000 people came to my house in one weekend to buy all the things on the ground. That's how my company Growing Days was born. In addition to my thriving business, I also had the pleasure of growing our family. Finding the balance was important to me. I wished to be a mom as well as a business owner who was successful. Growing Days was the obvious option. Nora joined us in 2013 to be our fourth baby. My business was booming however I needed a break. I took a break from creating furniture for vintage homes, and slowed down my pace and stayed at home to take care of the kids. It was exactly what I was looking for. It was only after several months that the phones started to call. There were calls from people asking me to help them with the interior design and renovations of their home. Many of the people calling me came from people who attended one of the furniture open house events. After that, I gradually took on new clients in my own way. In the end, I had many clients and I was running an enterprise of renovations to homes. If you'd have told me that this business that I started would become the premise of a tv show that airs on the DIY Network I probably would have thought you were crazy. In fact, I do amused when I think of it.
